Cross River State All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu says he will use every available resource in and outside the state to create wealth for the people if elected as Governor of the state.
The APC candidate who stated this in a press briefing in Calabar during the unveiling of his campaign manifestos also promised to provide responsive leadership, productive, transparent and accountable leadership to the people If he wins as the state chief executive.
He said, ” We aim to use all available resources in and outside Cross River State to create wealth and provide responsive leadership that is productive, transparently, distributive, and accountable to the people.
On the core value of government, he said that “Based on our core values, our government will be extremely passionate about the welfare of the people irrespective of their tribe, tongue, and section in the state, I am a strong believer in the inviolability of the democratic process, rule of law and the delivering of democratic dividends” Senator Otu assured.
On the ‘People’s First’ mantra, Prince Otu in his manifesto stated, “The deepening of our investment without discrimination in people will be the cornerstone of our administration establishing and institutionalizing our ” People First” Mantra.

He said, “Poor quality of education is a waste of resources and energy, and this has been a major cause of youth unemployment in our states and country””
“Therefore we will focus on periodic accreditation of schools and the institution of a minimum standard of the establishment of schools. We will introduce a school-based management system. We will build a strong inspectorate structure which would provide an annual ranking of schools on commonly agreed indices, which will involve Civil Society CSOs in providing independent reports on the school system””
He said he will strive to build a state free of insecurity, to make the state safer for investment to thrive.
He promised to build robust health institutions to discourage health tourism among the people.
