“The people of Cross River State are Very Anxious to see the birth of the new Cross River” – Sen. Sandy Onor
Cross River State governorship flag-bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the 2023 election, Prof. Sandy Onor says, the people of Cross River are very anxious to see the birth of the new Cross River in 2023.
Prof Onor who is also the Senator representing Cross River Central Senatorial District of the state made this assertion on Saturday, 11 June 2023 during a media briefing at the NUJ secretariat, State Housing, Calabar the state capital.
The lawmaker said, “With the Certificate of Return now safely with us, preparations for the next general election have got to the next level. I am also aware that the people of Cross River State are very anxious to see the birth of the new Cross River State that we promised”
Senator Onor also make a promise that darkness would soon give way to light in the state.
He said, “All I can say is that we are very close to our ‘El Dorado’. I mean, Darkness will soon give way to light and our people will smile again. All that we are needed is the support from all the citizens and the residents to achieve this”
Stressing that, the Ayade-All Progressives Congress-led government in the state had ruined and destroyed everything, maintaining that the state is now desperately needed a redemption, opined that, the only step toward reclaiming back the state is for every eligible voter to go and secure their PVCs.
His words, “We are seriously committed to the task of reclaiming the state and we will do so through every legal means. I, therefore, call on every eligible voter residing in the state to go get their PVCs” He stressed.
The University lecturer turned politician also condemned in strong terms the alleged plans by the state government to illegally borrowed more money, maintaining that that single move would continue to compound the huge debt profile of the state.
