2023: ACA in disarray as top clerics dump group
Prominent church heads and founding members of Akwa Ibom Christian Assembly (ACA) have dumped the body, leaving only few unknown leaders of the Christian community with him, since he sold the body to a senator biding for governorship seat 2023.
At her gatekeeping meeting where he sourced for new members, especially elders, seats were almost empty, even the high table had only Bishop Awasiakan Otong from Etim Ekpo, with him and a handful of ministers.
More shocking discovery was made when Rev. Mrs. Angela Ashong, the Archbishop Cletus Bassey closet ally and Evang. Smith Ukpong, Rev. Ntia Ntia, Apostle Andy Nnyenime who graced previous meetings, were not sighted throughout the hours the meeting lasted.
Enquiries indicated that since Governor Udom Emmanuel presented Pastor Umo Eno, a founding board member of ACA, several prominent ministers of influence have shunned all entreaties to attend ACA’s meetings, as it was found out the body was against the Governor’s succession project.
Meanwhile, ACA’s president, Archbishop Cletus Bassey has appealed to coordinators to hire buses with people for another meeting next Thursday.
The re-gathering of ACA, a source in his church said is to fight the Governor Udom Emmanuel’s succession plan, because of OBA whom he has supported all along.
