2023: Opponents jittery over Pastor Umo Eno
Tension and anxiety have expectedly continued to grow in the build-up to the much anticipated Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primaries and 2023 general election, particularly in the camp of the opponents of Pastor Umo Eno who are jittery over his overwhelming endorsements across different strata and political blocs in the state.
It was gathered that after unsuccessful attempts to blackmail and intimidate the leading and most popular governorship aspirant out of the race through every conventional and unconventional means, the jittery opponents resorted to unnecessary cheap media war, unabetted lies and falsehood.
Pastor Umo Eno is Governor Udom Emmanuel’s preferred candidate ahead of the poll.
Major stakeholders in the State led by former governor, Obong Victor Attah have found the reputable entrepreneur and cleric worthy to take over from Governor Udom Emmanuel in 2023 after a careful assessment of all the aspirants vying for the top seat.
Today, Eno is not only a top contender for the governorship of Akwa Ibom State on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of 2023, he has also been endorsed for the top job by virtually all the key political stakeholders in the State thereby unsettling his opponents in the race.
Using the advantage of media platforms at their disposal, the embittered opponents set out on an intentional, calculated and unimaginable media war against Pastor Umo Eno. There was indeed no honeymoon for Pastor Eno’s camp as his opponents remained unrelenting in their attack and propaganda.
Like guerrilla warfare, an unprecedented army of obviously misinformed and socially disoriented youths were mobilized, armed with android phones and data allowances to unleash onslaughts on Pastor Umo Eno and Maintain Peace Movement (MPM), the organisation that serves as the forerunner (John the Baptist) of Pastor Umo Eno’s emergence.
Undoubtedly, the porous and uncensored social media space, could not help matters as it became a veritable platform to discredit, malign, disparage and abuse the anointed and blessed aspirant.
As if that was not enough, recently, during the PDP Governorship aspirants Screening exercise for South South Zone at Portharcourt, Rivers State, when no aspirant from Akwa Ibom was screened by the panel, his opponents went to the media and published fake news to continue to deceive the gullible and innocent readers that Pastor Umo Eno was not screened by the 5 member-PDP Screening Panel headed by the Governor of Bayelsa State, Mr. Douye Diri whereas Pastor Eno was successfully screened and has been cleared by the panel.
This was a clear demonstration of frustration and helplessness, having failed to deceive their followers that Pastor Umo Eno had no School certificate and that he did not go to school, the development observers say are nothing but signs of apprehension, agitation and inferiority complex.
Umo Eno, no doubt became the most popular, loved, accepted and endorsed aspirant in the 2023 governorship race in Akwa Ibom State and has remained unperturbed, undaunted, unintimidated in his consultation, especially to the party delegates, soliciting their support and votes in a very civilized, democratic and responsible manner.
With his oratorial powers, Umo Eno has wooed many to his camp and became the most popular aspirant in the race, thereby frightening his opponents.
There is no section of Akwa Ibom State where Pastor Umo Eno has not been endorsed. He has been endorsed and adopted by the PDP faithful, the youths, women across the three senatorial districts, religious organisations, traders, transporters, professional bodies, artisans, individuals among others.
One may ask, what is behind the rise of Pastor Umo Eno’s political profile and acceptability?
The answer is that Pastor Umo Eno is a man gifted with the power of oratory, vision and blueprint to lead Akwa Ibom to the next level.
As an entrepreneur, a pastor and a shepherd of God’s people, Umo Eno is a man full of ideas. He is intelligent, well lettered and above all, he based his campaigns on issues.
He proferred solutions to so many challenges facing the people. He knows what is lacking in the state and what the people need having lived and invested in the state since 1995.
Today, Eno is not only a top contender for the governorship of Akwa Ibom State on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of 2023, he has also been endorsed for the top job by virtually all the key political stakeholders in the State thereby unsettling his opponents in the race.
The Stakeholders and the governor’s endorsement put Pastor Umo Eno in the position of the Biblical Jacob who was blessed by his father, Isaac while Esau his elder brother was denied the same blessing by the father.
According to the Scriptures, every effort by Jacob’s brother to upturn the blessing was in futility as Jacob remained the blessed one. This went to confirm the fact that though the opponent may try to deceive people, fight hard, threaten thunder and brimstone, spread lies and blackmail against Pastor Umo Eno they will never succeed. Who God blesses, is blessed.
