Resist Cletus Bassey’s needless attacks against Pastor Umo Eno – Apostle James Okrok
At a time when those who should team up with Governor Udom Emmanuel to perpetuate peace, harmony and good governance in Akwa Ibom State, by supporting a man of peace; Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, it’s so sad and disgusting to find out that a few members of the body of Christ have sworn to play the Brutus.
Archbishop Cletus Bassey is a kingpin in the betrayal train. Expectedly the train has derailed, and scores are seriously wounded and desperately pleading for a drop of iodine to mollify their putrifying sores.
If you listen to recriminations of those pastors who were with Archbishop Cletus Bassey in the then “regrouped ACA,” whom he made to believe that OBA was the preferred successor, you’ll be so overwhelmed with compassion that you wish you possess all the apothecary’s art in mollifying their injuries.
What is more disturbing is the Archbishop Cletus Bassey’s vow to fight both Governor Udom Emmanuel and Pastor Umo Eno to finish, in spite of his knowledge of the impending implosion in his camp.
Meanwhile, he knows he’s on the path of infamy, but to be seen by OBA that he’s fighting hard his cause, the archbishop has raised a kitty of media attack dogs to throw muds on the integrity of Pastor Umo Eno. His grouse against Umo Eno, a pastor close to him revealed, is that as a former CAN chairman, Akwa Ibom State and from Uyo Senatorial district, no other pastor in the state was more qualified than himself.
A source said that since neither himself or OBA were not qualified enough in the eyes of the Governor to succeed him, the only option was to go into a pig’s fight against Pastor Umo Eno; by not only casting muds on him but lure him into the mud, so that the church which is standing with him will begin to ask questions and view him in bad light. His strategy was simple: sponsor lies against Pastor Umo Eno; make him stink before the eyes of church leaders.
That plot resulted in two falsehoods that trended in the last two weeks. Firstly; they shamelessly concorted a story that Governor Udom Emmanuel has “dropped his preferred candidate” because of rejection they claimed he suffered and that the Governor was shopping for a replacement.’ Totally false. Secondly; that Pastor Umo Eno is a mason or member of a Freemasonry and as such not qualified to be supported by the church.
These falsehoods were feasted on by the OBA media dragnets, which kept regurgitating the lies. They also plotted and planted their media agents to try hard to secure any response from Pastor Umo Eno whereby they can quote him out of context but all failed.
Meanwhile, my search light shows that Archbishop Cletus Bassey has had very good relationship with Pastor Umo Eno for decades; preaching in his church, All Nations Christian Ministry Int’l, Eket, for many years; eating and wining in his house severally; visiting all Pastor Umo Eno’s facilities and alongside Rev. Mrs. Angela Ashong, have dedicated many of the Royalty Group’s facilities, spent countless moments with Pastor Umo Eno’s family and staff.
Archbishop Cletus Bassey knows more members of Umo Eno’s family more than any leader of the body of Christ in Akwa Ibom State.
If Pastor Umo Eno was not a true man of God, serving God in spirit and in truth, the archbishop would not have been that close and enjoyed unfettered access to him and his facilities any time he was at Eket. If anyone should speak evil of Pastor Umo Eno, it shouldn’t be the Archbishop. So, when he was fingered as the arrowhead of those false stories, it was so befuddling. Archbishop Cletus Bassey attacks against Umo Eno tells how envy can drive a man of God of his social and ecumenical standing to descend low enough to dig muds on an innocent man, just because he wants to please his paymaster.
In all this, the devil is laughing hoarse, because he has found a willing tool in the archbishop and is using him to fight the church. Methinks the archbishop knows the truth”…that no gates of hell shall prevail against the church.”
He may deploy more Judases to fight the church but God will always prevail. Fellow Akwa Ibomites, don’t let the archbishop and his aides recruit you to fight God, because he has an option to run away to hide in USA. Resist the lure to attack Umo Eno. Hear this;
“Therefore, in the present case I advise you: Leave these men alone! Let them go! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God,” Acts 5:38-39.
