Isonguyo commends alma mater over inter-house competition
The premises of Secondary Commercial School, Ndon Ide, Ikot Ekpene came alive yesterday during its 2022 inter-house sports competition.
The event took place at the school playground.
An old boy of the school, Iberedem Isonguyo (aka Bebeto) was a guest at the event.
Hon. Isonguyo who is a councilor of Ikot Ekpene Urban Ward 5 and a one-time games prefect of the school commended the school for keeping the flag flying.
He appreciated the teachers for the training and discipline they gave him, noting that it has shaped his life and propelled him to where he is today.
He urged the students to imbibe good morals so that they will be useful to the society after their secondary school education.
Isonguyo who once led the team to an inter-secondary schools football competition in 1995 thanked the school authority for making him “Patron of Yellow House” added that the gesture which is an honour is also humbling.
His excitement grew in leaps and bounds when Yellow House emerged overall first from the six houses that participated in the games.
While thanking the school for the honour done him, he pledged his continued support for the school in any way he can, even as he commended Yellow House for their fine outing.
