Amayam Traditional Ruler’s Council endorses Prince Samuel Ukut for State House seat
At a formal consultation of the Amayam Traditional Rulers Council of Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area, comprising Village Heads of twenty five villages, their Village Chairmen and Women Leaders, Prince Samuel Ukut was formally adopted and endorsed as the choice of the Amayam Clan to represent Ikot Ekpene and Obot Akara State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly come 2023.
Setting the tone of the meeting, the host Eteidung Paul Wilson Akpan who doubles as the Village Head of Ikot Obong Otoro presented traditional items to welcome Prince Samuel Ukut who they referred to as ‘IDORENYIN AMAYAM’.
Prince Ukut, who went in to consult the Royal Fathers thanked them for the warm reception and their role in stabilizing our communities.
He further stated that we needed them in health to continue in the transfer of our values to the younger generation.
He promised to run an inclusive representation where the traditional institution will play an active part when given the opportunity in the forthcoming elections.
He pledged his commitment towards the welfare of the Royal Fathers, stating that he will not disappoint them.
In their separate reactions, the traditional rulers commended the effort of Prince Ukut towards community development in the past, outlining some of the project to include the periodic medical outreaches, vegetation control among many others which the clan benefitted in no small measure.
The Royal Fathers gave their blessings to the course of the House of Assembly hopeful through prayers and declarations.
The meeting which was presided over by the Chairman of Amayam Traditional Rulers Council, Chief Pius Udofa, had in attendance, Chief Cyprian Ikono, Secretary of Amayam Traditional Rulers Council and Village Head of Adatak, EtteIdung Paul Wilson Akpan (JP) the Village Head of Ikot Obong Otoro, Chief Nse Udo Umoh, Chief Alexander Essien, a former Councillor and Village Head of Mbiaso, Chief (Rev) Nnabuk Ukut, Chaplain and Village Head of Nyaraenyin Ntong Uno among others who unanimously endorsed Prince Samuel Ukut for the Ikot Ekpene and Obot Akara State Constituency seat.
