Imoh Ben Udowa: Better days await Eket Senatorial District in 2023

The people of Akwa Ibom South Senatorial District are in for a better representation and improved standard of living come 2023, going by the calibre of people seeking to succeed Senator Akon Eyakenyi.

ation of one of the top contenders, Barr. Imoh Ben Udowa, an industrialist and financial expert, to tackle the deepening poverty in the 12 local government areas making Eket Senatorial District through effective representation.
Speaking with journalists at Madelyn Hotels, Eket, on why he wants to represent the people of Akwa Ibom South, Barr. Udowa who is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Madelyn Group, pledged to breath fresh air into political and legislative endeavours.
He identified poor representation as the bane of Nigeria’s poverty index, positing that he ventures into politics to solve poverty problems bedevilling the society by initiating and sponsoring poverty alleviation bills and setting up sustainable source of income for the people.
Barr. Imoh Ben Udowa also expressed dismay that the law-making function had been allowed to overshadow the representative and oversight functions of legislation endeavours, promising to correct the abnormally when given the mandate.
While noting that he has been in the business of creating jobs since leaving the banking sector in 2002 to establish Madelyn Group of Companies, Barr. Imoh Ben Udowa stated that his representation will also focus on job creation through establishment of viable labour intensive and market value-oriented industries in each of the 12 local government areas in the senatorial district.
He lauded the industrialisation policy of Governor Udom Emmanuel, stressing that he fits into the succession plan and Completion Agenda of the governor, given his private sector initiatives.
A Chartered Accountant and Fellow of Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, Barr Udowa noted that he is bringing more than 30 years experience into politics, having served as the General Manager/Regional Director in Access Bank.
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and an indigene of Mkpat Enin Local Government Area, Barr Imoh Udowa insisted zoning, equity, antecedence and trend of events favour his aspiration and sued for the support of the people and stakeholders.
He particularly poured encomium on Governor Udom Emmanuel for his maturity to bury his senatorial ambition despite calculated attempts to drag him into the race.
