Federal Polytechnic Ukana: Rector, identifies unconditional love as panacea for successful marriage
The Rector Federal Polytechnic, Ukana, Dr Uduak S. Ukekpe has admonished married couple to allow love lead in their marriages in order to enjoy marital bliss.
Speaking during the solemnization of Holy matrimony between a staff of the Polytechnic, Effiong Umoren and his better half, Rosemary Idung which held at the Methodist Church Nigeria, Cathedral of Unity, Ukana Ikot Ntuen in Essien Udim, the Rector advised the newly married to love each other unconditionally, and prayed God to bless their home and sustain the union.
“” Let love lead in your marriage by so doing you shall raise beautiful children who will grow up and become beneficial to the community, state and the world. ” he advised.
While delivering the homily the Circuit Steward Elder Hon. Essien Pius Ubeng who preached on the topic ” Love, key to Marital bliss “, from Genesis 2:18-25, said love remains the ultimate and should be upheld in any marriage that must succeed.” You can never have a successful marriage without love, it is the centre of every marriage” he said.
The Clergyman described marriage as one institution that nobody has ever graduated, nor gotten a certificate. He equally prayed God to bless the couple.
Speaking shortly at the reception venue, the couple, Mr & Mrs Ifiok Umoren expressed appreciation to God, family, friends, the Rector and the polytechnic community for their presence and support, and prayed God to reward their effort.
Meanwhile, the traditional marriage Ceremony was consummated last Thursday 9th December, 2021at Elder Idem U. Idung’s Compound, Mbiabet Ikpe, Ikpe Annang, Essien Udim Local Government Area.
