2023: “We will target 500, 000 votes” – Cross River APC Chairman
Cross River State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC Campaign Council is aiming at garnering over 500, 000 votes across the state in the 2023 general elections.
This was made known to the journalists at the State party secretariat over the weekend by the state party chairman of the APC, Barr. Alphonsus Eba.
Barrister Eba said the campaign council will be directed by former Nigeria’s Ambassador to Mali, Chief Sonni Abang, and the campaign team will be charged with our known slogan, “Sweep it clean”
He further stated that chief Abang will be assisted by the three dynamic deputy director generals, Chief Chris Obasse, Central, Chief Ofu Aye, South, and Stephen Odey will be assisted in the Northern part of the state.
Explaining that the campaign council will consist of 2,500 members, the local government campaign council is expected to have 52,000 members with a total of 27 directorates.
He said the campaign council mandate is to work to achieve over 500,000 votes across the state for the party which represents about 80% of registered voters.
The chairman expressed delight with the party’s presidential flag bearer, Sen. Asiwaju Bola Tinubu for initiating the peace movement which has helped to return peace between Sen. John Owan Enoh and the state party chapter.
Barr. Bea said, “Cross Riveriàns know who the APC are and what we have done particularly the magic of hitting the rock for water to come out in the building. Over 30 factories, and when 403 Billion Naira was handed over to Governor Ayade”
Opined that, the party has already won the elections ahead of time and charged all the members to do the job with all sense of purpose, vigour and determination.
Meanwhile, Ernest Irek, Patrick Ogar, Obono Obla, Cletus Obun, and Maurice Inok are expected to assist with the campaign council.
