2023: Nto Udo Ukut Royal Family endorse Pastor Umo Eno, Rt. Hon. Nsikak Ekong, Prince Samuel Ukut
In the steam of the political season, elders, women and youths of the Nto Udo Ukut royal family gathered in an emergency congress to take a position on the Governorship, Federal House & State House of Assembly seats.
Family heads, men, women and the youths who converged on the palace of the Paramount Ruler of Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area, HRM Okuku Okon Udo Ukut took turns to speak on the future of the state in the forthcoming elections.
In a resolution jointly signed by the three family heads, the pioneer ward chairman of PDP from the family and endorsed by the Paramount Ruler, the family passed a vote of confidence on their inlaw and the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel pledging their support through his completion agenda.
They further endorsed the choice of Pastor Umo Eno as the next Governor of Akwa Ibom State and Rt. Hon. Nsikak Okon Ekong to return for a second term in the Federal House of Representatives.
On the State Assembly seat, the resolution read in part; “In order to lay to rest the matter of choice of a suitable aspirant from the family to contest for and represent Ikot Ekpene and Obot Akara State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, we have chosen Samuel Alexander Ukut among all the rumoured aspirants…” hinging their position on the facts that:
– He is the most accepted by Stakeholders in the state constituency.
– His robust penetration of the grassroots in his community engagements and mobilization is a great asset to the PDP in her election efforts.
They further stated that their endorsement of Prince Samuel Ukut is because he is a man with compassion towards the welfare of his people, citing his effort in community development to include installation of solar street lights, educational support, business start-up support, free health care services particularly his recent sponsorship of 4 major surgical operations for indigienes of the community among others. They posited that such a person, when given the opportunity to represent the people will do even more, pledging their full support for his aspiration.
The Paramount Ruler of Ikot Ekpene HRM Okuku Okon Udo Ukut in his reaction, upheld and affirmed the endorsement of Pastor Umo Eno, Rt. Hon. Nsikak Ekong and Prince Samuel Ukut for Governorship, House of Representatives and State Assembly respectively stating that the position represents the collective will of the family.
Prince Samuel Ukut who responded on behalf of aspirants thanked the Paramount Ruler, family heads and the entire family for the confidence reposed in them by the endorsement.
He made a commitment that they will not disappoint the family when they get into office.
