2023: Governor Emmanuel advocates patriotic, selfless leadership in Nigeria.
Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State says Nigeria needs selfless and patriotic leaders with the capacity to proffer solution to myriad of challenges bedeviling the country.
The Governor stated this while declaring open the 2022 Conference of the Forum of Former Deputy Governors of Nigeria in Uyo on Tuesday, 25th called on Nigerians to ensure that they vote only credible leaders that can salvage the nation in 2023.
The Governor who is also the Chairman of Atiku Presidential Campaign posited that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has capacity to take Nigeria out of the present quagmire and restore her loss glory.
He said Nigerian challenges are not unsurmountable but needs leaders with compassionate hearts and capacity to resolve them.
“”We are in challenging time across the globe and Nigeria is not excluded. It is also a time for the whole world to come closer to God for help. Challenging times did not start today, it starts right from the old testament time. We read about the great famine in the Scriptures,” he remarked.
Emmanuel charged Nigerians to live sentiments but face the reality of the fact that Nigeria is in challenging time and the solution rest on the quality of leadership that are elected into different positions.
He commended the organisers of the event for the choice of the theme for the conference which is “Nation-Building in Challenging Times” and for chosing Uyo as the venue for the event noting that Akwa ibom is enlisted as one of the cleanest cities in Africa and wish them a successful deliberation during the conference.
Emmanuel further charged the former Deputy Governors to continue to get involve to ensure good governance in Nigeria while commending them for the initiative.
