2023: Enoidem receives more APC defectors
Ahead of the 2023 general elections, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Senatorial District candidate for Akwa Ibom North-West , Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem has received more defectors from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and other political parties into the PDP in Etim Ekpo LGA.
Addressing the defectors in a colourful ceremony at the Council Secretariat, Utu Etim Ekpo on Wednesday, 13th July 2023, Barr. Enoidem assured them of the protection of the umbrella (PDP) and charged them to work for the success of the party in the upcoming elections.
The National Chairman of Maintain Peace Movement (MPM) while commending them for their support and love to him and the party, promised to reciprocate their gesture. He tasked them on peace and loyalty to the PDP and all candidates of the party from Governorship, Senate, House of Representatives and the House of Assembly.
According to Barr Enoidem, his emergence as the party’s flag-bearer in the 2023 Senatorial election is the hand of God positing that the same God will give him success at the polls in 2023. He assured them of effective and efficient representation at the red chambers of the National Assembly when he wins the election in 2023.
The immediate past PDP National Legal Adviser, called on both new and old members of the party to remain steadfast and work hard for the success of the party at their various units, charging them to safeguard their Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVC) so as to be able to vote for the party and urged the people to support Governor Emmanuel’s succession plans.
Receiving the defectors, the Chapter Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Etim Ekpo, Hon. Aniekan Dan commended them for their wise decision to return to the party, asserting that PDP is the only party that rewards loyalty.
In his words, “PDP is the only party in Etim Ekpo, returning to the party is a good decision you’ve made at a time like this and you won’t have any reason to regret”.
Hon. Dan urged the defectors to support all candidates of the party adding that the PDP is the only party that has the interest of the people at heart.
In their separate speeches some of the defectors reaffirmed their total support to the PDP at all levels and also vow to canvass support for the party and Barr. Enoidem to emerge victorious in the senatorial election.
They lauded the party for accepting them back into its fold and promised to remain faithful to the party.
One of the defectors who is a serving chapter secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr Udim Thomas said, “We’ve return to our base, we’ve come back to support a man of goodwill and good heart. A man of peace and a man with sterling leadership qualities in the person of Barr Emmanuel Enoidem. He is a man who has supported others at various levels of elections and now is his turn. Enoidem is a man who wants the best for his people. We’re all returning to the party because of him, to support him and make sure we send him to the red chambers to speak for us and bring dividend of good representations to us as usual” he explained.
Others who graced the event were the member representing Etim Ekpo/Ika State Constituency, Rt Hon Mfon Frank Idung, Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Science and Technology Dr. Imo Moffat, Chairman of Council Hon. Ime Afiah, immediate past Etim Ekpo/Ika State House of Assembly Hon. Gabriel Toby among others.
