The governor of Cross River State, Senator Ben Ayade in his last Christmas message before the end of his administration has called on Nigerians to be more patriotic to their fatherland as they discharge their civic responsibility in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
The call was contained in the governor’s Christmas message to the Crossriverians released on Saturday, December 24th to the media and signed by his Media Aid, Barr. Christian Ita.
He appealed to the Nigerian populace to be patriotic and come out en mass and vote for their conscience and candidates of their choice.
Stressing that Nigeria is in dire need of our love to mend the chasm and build bridges of our unity.
His words he said, “We must be meek to one another, pull together, and support one another, it is the only way that we can mend the chasm and build bridges of unity as a nation.
This season of Christmas has afforded us a unique opportunity to achieve that”
The governor also harps on Christians to seize the opportunity brought about by the Christmas yuletide period to redouble their efforts in loving and showing compassion toward one another.
He further called on the Christians to always remember the birth of the redeemer of mankind, Jesus Christ and strive to learn about the redemptive hope He has brought to the entire human race.
He advises the Christians to rededicate themselves to the value of love, sacrifice and tolerance as it remains the only attributes for our peaceful coexistence.
He opined that, “Christmas underpins the redemptive roles of Christ to mankind, just as it stresses the pivotal place of sacrifice necessary for a peaceful and harmonious work”
“So, as Christians, we must remind ourselves that love is the first requirement for a better and peaceful world,” the governor stressed.
